Free Market = Unregulated Capitalism = Monopolies & Cartels

Unregulated capitalism results in a nation run by monopolies and cartels. Supposedly, a democracy should be able to correct unregulated capitalism through public funding of government regulators, via voting and taxes. Sadly, in America's case, the people that Americans trust and put into power are bought out by the monopolies and cartels.

The Media is the gatekeeper and the owner of the playing field where political and social battles are fought. And the monopolies/cartels own the Media as well.
