USA Medical Insurance reform - Blocked

Republicans don't want Democrats to pass sweeping Medical Insurance reform, because:

1) It would make the Democrats wildly more popular than Republicans, and

2) It would have to be be paid for by the Republicans' bosses - the super-rich.

Republicans don't care that sweeping Medical insurance reform would save billions of dollars and would save millions of lives. As long as the Bosses are happy and the Workers are scared to step out of line, all is good for Republicans. Some Democrats as well.

The problem with American media

The problem with American Media is that the News Divisions of TV stations are allowed to be profit centers. Corporations gladly pay whatever it takes to put their commercials on, which wildly inflates commercial spots. "Normal" advertisers can't afford to compete, and Corporate advertisers become "too big to fail".

This makes the Media beholden to the advertisers: be nice to the interviewees or ads will be pulled; don't criticize the corporation's Cartel or ads will be pulled.

I think the most outrageous problem with the Media is that Fox and Rush and CNBC etc get to outright lie on the air, and there's no correction or retraction or shame or lesson learned. "I saw it on the TV, so it must be true. They didn't shut off the camera so it must be true," is what gullible Americans conclude.

A Corporate-owned Media will not report that DC politicians are Corporate-owned. A Corporate-owned Congress/President will not regulate Media to remove the Corporate influence. Meanwhile, Americans are fooled into thinking the struggle is Republican vs Democrat, when the struggle is actually Americans vs the Corporate Lobbyists.

My email to the President, February 11, 2010

Dear President Obama,

The Republicans will never want to work with you. If it seems like they're working with you, they are actually setting you up to fail. You seem to believe the Republicans will negotiate in good faith. You cannot believe this, though, being the shrewd politician that you are. But the American people are starting to think that you are either stupid or dishonest when you hold out hope for bipartisanship.

The American people want results and change, and if the Republicans refuse to engage in bipartisanship, it is up to you to jam things through. Otherwise, Republicans will be back in power in the Congress in 2010. This may be your plan, however lamentable it is.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to someone who actually wants to see a revived, respected America.

The Solution To America's Health Insurance Crisis

If I were Sherrod Brown, I would jump up on a desk and bang on a metal trash can during the next Senate Democratic Caucus meeting. "Who's with me on Single-Payer?" When no one replies, or they all look at Harry Reid, Sherrod jumps down, runs over to Reid, and puts the trash can on his head and pushes him over. "Who's with me on Single-Payer?" "Ow," says Senator Reid.

Sherrod turns to face the Caucus and sneers. "You gutless motherfuckers. Sanders! Get up on that desk and explain to the Caucus why Single-Payer is a good idea and why we are going to pass it this afternoon." "Ummmm..." says Senator Bernie Sanders. Sherrod stares at him in disbelief. "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST will you sack up, people? I'll give you five god-damn minutes to vote unanimously that we're going to pass Single-Payer with 59 votes. Fuck the filibuster: this affects the budget in a gigantic way. Now go and do the American electorate's bidding. Four minutes and fifty seconds!"
