Oh the Disappointment

It's disappointing, when you realize that after electing the Change candidate, you get a weak and - in many ways - a status quo President instead. It's disappointing for me because I now see that we need drastic reform in funding of political campaigns, plus we need to get corporate money out of news reporting. That's a lot harder than pulling a lever at the voting booth.

Don't get bogged down in the Democrats-and-Republicans-as-the-Odd-Couple charade that the Media puts on. It's actually "Americans vs Corporate Interests". Not really a pick-me-up.

Always remember: with great beauty comes great responsibility.

Some Doomsday/Thriller Levity (Finally!)

Moonbase Japan Robots 2020

If these are self-replicating robots, and they start making smaller versions of themselves, then the moon will be "grey goo" by 2100. Luckily, the Earth will be insulated from this mutating, replicating robot microbe horde. Insulated by the blackness of 250,000 miles of vacuum. Insulated, that is, until a giant meteor strikes the moon and kicks the robots into Earth's gravitational field.

Will the nanobots burn up on entry through the atmosphere? Probably not, because they will probably slow down fast, due to their low mass. Who can save the Earth? The Japanese Corporation that put the robots on the Moon in the first place.

Choices

Someone needs to make a video of "Which group would you rather be a member of?" which shows all the Republicans and the Media trudging through 2 feet of snow, in single-file, in the person in front's footsteps, being led by Walmart/Exxon/Phizer/FOX and right behind is Luntz/Limbaugh/Hannity followed by Dancin Dave and Stephanopolis and then Congressional Republicans and Blue dogs. Drudge and Alex Jones and Michael Steele pick up the rear. The wind is howling and everyone's head is down and no one is talking.

The Progressives, meanwhile, lounge around a tropical garden, noshing on snacks, and discuss how to help the world heal itself, and help Man/Animal/Plant/Nature work harmoniously.

Why the Lack of Progressive News Media in America

Democratic leaders rationalize away the need for a "left-wing noise machine":

"We told the people the truth, once on MSNBC and once in the NYT. If people want to continue to believe Luntz's lies, as repeated ad nauseum by Fox and Rush, then that's their choice. Plus, if there's a Primary fight, like between Obama and Clinton, then the 'left-wing noise machine' will have to decide between them, and that will make us Democrats look disorganized. Besides, there's always NPR and the blogs and the Daily Show."
