My Comment to the Obama Campaign

Barack and Joe must attack McCain and the Republicans about this White House request for $700 billion. The need for such a huge bail-out is a result of Republicans' failed policy of deregulation. The Republicans have basically admitted that they screwed up and now want someone else to clean up the mess, while the people who profited from the screw-up get to keep their profits.

Reagan said that "government is the problem, not the solution". Well government IS the solution in this case because it is the only entity with enough money to pay for the Republicans' screw-up.

Run an ad against McCain, Bush, Reagan, and the Republicans ... about how deregulation and trickle-down economics and pre-emptive war are HORRIBLE policies that have FAILED, and are not things America needs MORE of! Now they want Americans to be left holding the bill for a colossal failure of policy? No way ... not without serious RE-regulation and de-consolidation. For example, Bank of America needs to be broken up into much-smaller pieces, now that it has acquired those huge firms.

Don't believe the Bush Administration's threats that a check for $700 billion with no strings attached must be handed over immediately. Get agreements for re-regulation and de-consolidation. That is the only way to make things better (for the 99% of Americans who are going to end up paying, not profiting).
