Deborah Pryce makes me so mad - Taxes, Iraq, and my letter to her
Deborah Price (R OH-15) is my representative. I recently received a mass email from her touting some of her "successes". I may have signed up at her website last year, to get "updates" on her campaign. I encourage everyone who gets the urge to speak out: do so, and you will feel a lot better. Here's the link I used: Link
Pryce may not be as grating as Boehner, but she is still a rubber stamp for Bush's policies, and continues to say things like "the tax cuts are working, so don't let Democrats raise them".

Pryce: Low Unemployment, Growing Economy Stem from Tax Cuts
Washington, DC - Today, Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus) released the following statement in response to the announcement that unemployment numbers dropped by .3% in each of the three counties she represents:
"Central Ohio's economy continues to hum. Under our tax relief policies, jobs are being created, unemployment is low, and the economy continues to expand at a remarkable rate. Once again, the evidence is clear: our economic plan continues to work, and I remain committed to continuing the tax policies that have produced this vigorous economic growth.
"But I am deeply concerned that Democrats have taken affirmative steps to raise taxes and increase government spending, both of which will slow the economy and make us less competitive internationally. By refusing to renew the targeted tax policies that jumpstarted the economy, created more than 7 million jobs, and provided for three straight years of economic growth, Democratic leaders are busily preparing the golden goose for slaughter.
"Since tax relief for families, businesses, and seniors was fully implemented in 2003, federal tax receipts have increased 35%, and 70% of the reduction in the deficit in 2007 resulted from the increase in tax revenue."

Here is my reply to her on this and on the war in Iraq:
Rep. Pryce,
The best way to support the troops and their families is to bring them home as soon as possible.
You have supported Pres. Bush in his project (the war-of-choice in Iraq) long enough. His project failed. It is time to show respect for the troops and stop using them as pawns in your political games against the Democrats.
Oh, and comparing January's unemployment numbers to February's, as a way to say "the tax cuts are working" does not fly. Month-to-month fluctuations don't mean anything. Plus, attributing "tax cuts" to "lower unemployment" is a leap of faith on your part.
Finally, I learned long ago that the best way to deal with bullies is to fight back. Democrats are now fighting back against the bullies which make up the Republican Party. Judging by the 5th-grade namecalling I witness on C-SPAN (eg "Democrat Party"), the Republicans are nothing but a bunch of bullies.
Thank you
